Costs Involved

Everything you need to know about the costs of owning a holiday home.

Understanding the costs involved when you choose holiday home ownership

Owning a holiday home is all about having the freedom to enjoy more time away in the places you love. Before purchasing, it's important to understand the costs involved so you can choose a holiday home and location that's right for your lifestyle and budget. At Blue Anchor Leisure, we believe in being completely transparent, so we'll always explain the costs associated with ownership before you make a decision. While the exact costs vary depending on the park and holiday home you choose, this guide outlines the main expenses you may need to consider.

Purchasing your Holiday Home

The first cost is, the purchase of your holiday home. Whether you're looking for an affordable pre-owned caravan or a luxury lodge, we offer a wide range of options to suit different budgets and requirements. The purchase price will vary depending on factors such as the manufacturer, model, size, age, pitch location and any included extras, such as decking or skirting. If you'd prefer to spread the cost of your purchase, finance may be available on selected holiday homes.* Our team will be happy to discuss the options available and help you find a solution that works for you. *Terms and conditions apply. Finance is subject to status. Over 18’s only.

Annual Site Fees

Every holiday park charges annual site fees, which contribute towards maintaining the park and ensuring it remains a place owners are proud to visit year after year. Site fees include occupancy of your pitch, water, sewage, waste disposal, grass cutting and street lighting. Owners also receive 8 passes which include access to the swimming pool and facilities at Golden Palm Resort.

Current annual site fees across our parks range from approximately £2,290 to £4,455, depending on the park and development selected. We'll always provide a full breakdown of the fees for your chosen park before you purchase.

Gas and Electicity

You'll be responsible for paying for the gas and electricity you use during your stays. How these utilities are supplied varies between our parks. Some parks benefit from a piped gas supply, while others use bottled LPG gas. Electricity is typically metered, meaning you only pay for the energy you use. Our team will explain how utilities are supplied and billed at your chosen park, so you'll have a clear understanding of the ongoing costs before you purchase

Holiday Home Insurance

Holiday home insurance is another important cost to consider and helps protect both your holiday home and its contents. Policies can vary, but they typically include cover for things such as accidental damage, storm damage, theft, public liability and contents. Our team can recommend specialist holiday home insurance providers if required.

Looking after your Holiday Home

Holiday homes are designed to be low maintenance, but it's sensible to budget for occasional upkeep to keep everything in excellent condition. This may include servicing appliances, cleaning, exterior maintenance and replacing items through general wear and tear over time. Regular maintenance helps ensure your holiday home is always ready for your next visit.

Subletting at Selected Parks

Some Blue Anchor Leisure parks allow owners to sublet their holiday home when they're not using it. If available, this can help offset some of the ongoing costs of ownership, such as annual site fees, insurance and utility bills. Subletting rules vary between parks, so if this is something you're interested in, our team will be happy to recommend the parks where it is permitted and explain how it works.

Are there any other costs?

Depending on the park and your holiday home, there may also be additional costs to consider, such as:

- Local authority rates, where applicable

- Optional Wi-Fi packages

- Gas safety checks and servicing

- Winterisation services, if required

We'll always provide a clear breakdown of any applicable charges, so you know exactly what to expect.
